Heading tags
HTML tags that help outline a web page or draw attention to important
information. Keywords located inside header tags can provide a rankings
boost in the search engines. An HTML tag is often used to denote a page
or section heading on a web page. Search engines pay special attention
to text that is marked with a heading tag, as such text is set off from
the rest of the page content as being more important.
Examples:
<h1>This is an H1 tag.</h1>
<h2>This is an H2 tag.</h2>
Hidden text and hidden links
Text on a website that is hidden to humans but is visible to
search engines. Hidden text and hidden links are often used to artificially
increase a web page's keyword density for a keyword or keyphrase and/or
to artificially boost the link popularity of other pages on your site(s).Simple
tricks can be used to obtain this effect, such as using the same background
color for the text color, or more elaborate ones using CSS-P. The same
effect can also be achieved by using various HTML tricks. Much like hidden
links, hidden text is the art of hiding text on the webpage to influence
search engine rankings. However, all search engines see hidden text as
SPAM, and if caught, your website will incur a penalty and may be banned
from search engines.
Home directory
The directory where your site's main index page is located. The
index page in your home directory can be accessed like this: http://www.yoursite.com
Hyperlink text
Underlined text that points to another web page. Google pays
particular attention to the text used in a hyperlink and associates the
keywords contained in the hyperlink text to the page being linked to.
